In 1942, Mr. Konrad Morjan and his wife, Mrs. Frieda Lorenz, founded in La Antigua Guatemala the company called M. Lorenz Hermanos, which dedicated to the production and commercialization of jam and jelly under the brand name Panchoy, taking advantage of the abundance of fruits in the region. After the death of the founders in 1964, the operation of the company was interrupted until 1993, when a grandson of the Morjan couple decided to continue with the jam and jelly production under the brand name Valle de Panchoy, using the original German recipes.
